Faithful church members and friends of New Life Lutheran meet each Tuesday morning to work on quilts for distribution by Lutheran World Relief.
Our goal for the Spring Gathering is 50 quilts. We have been able to complete an average of2 quilts a week. There are kits available with simple patterns for 9 inch squares to be completed at home by anyone interested.Once the squares have been sewn together, they are brought back to church to have batting and backing added and then yarn is used to tie the quilt together. The final stage is stitching the edges either by hand or machine.
Often around the first of the year, the Lydia Circle Quilters may find they have excess funds in their account due to the sale of quilts during the past year and/or contributions received to help families around the world through Lutheran World Relief. This year, we decided to use our excess of $530 to provide a farm full of animals to those in need in other parts of the world.
Come Join Us!!What a great time to spend a couple hours once a week for fellowship and work on quilts while supporting Lutheran World Relief in helping people around the world.
This outreach demonstrates “God’s work, our hands.”
